Great Athlete, Napoleon Kaufman will help Oakland Raiders Press Toward the Mark

Damali Binta – Apr 13, 2012

Broadening the dimension of counsel and influence in the lives of the young Oakland Raiders is a smart move in order to build the character and commitment to excellence of the 2012 team.

A recent post on www.raiders.com shows an outstanding athlete who is also an ordained minister and pastor. Napoleon Kaufman has returned to the Oakland Raiders with a mission that will help to develop the "whole" man and, perhaps, help to build the inner strength and dedication to a commitment to excellence.

There can be a broad and deep interpretation to the theme, "Commitment to Excellence." The addition of a young chaplain who was also an outstanding Oakland Raider is a sure sign of wisdom, in my opinion.

Some of the issues that affect the efficiency of an NFL player often fall in a category of ethics, morals and character. Off-field distractions may be minimized and dealt with in a broader and deeper context, thus allowing men to see that secular and sacred are what help to build a universe that all men journey through. To omit a discussion of the sacred is to miss some of the vital information for sustaining and surviving the challenges in life and in NFL football.

The role of the chaplain will probably include discussions of the links between the issues of the secular world of work,  and the hope, health and healing encompassed in sacred discussions.

It is a positve move to at least offer the counsel of an ordained minister such as Pastor Napoleon Kaufman. No doubt the scales that blind the young and prosperous NFL players on the Oakland Raiders' team will fall off and they will begin to see llfe in NFL football and after NFL football with more clarity, wisdom, and discernment.

Indeed, the employment of a chaplain will assist the Oakland Raiders in their commitment and pursuit of excellence.

Congratulations, Pastor Napoleon Kaufman for being thoroughly prepared for a challenging job and mission.

Let's hope that more Oakland Raiders "press toward the mark for the prize of the high call...."
