Oakland Raiders Re-sign S Matt Giordano
Oren Shiri – Apr 16, 2012
On Monday evening the Raiders annouced the re-signing of safety Matt Giordano. Last season Giordano surprised Raider Nation recording a career best 70 tackles and leading the team with five interceptions and added a sack.
Giordano is somewhat familiar with the Raiders new regime. He played one season in Green Bay, where Reggie McKenzie worked inside the personnel deparment. He also spent time with Dennis Allen in New Orleans when Allen served as the defensive backs coach in 2010. Gioradano also has Super Bowl experience with the Indianapolis Colts in 2006.
The 29 year-old will compete with safety Micheal Mitchell for the third safety on the team once camp starts.
