Oakland Raiders: LT Jared Veldheer Working Hard to Help Youth Football Players

Stuart Kovacs – Jul 11, 2012

Oakland Raiders’ offensive lineman Jared Veldheer is doing everything he can to impress the team’s new coaching staff with his performance on the field.

In addition to that, he is also trying to make an impact on the country’s young athletes by holding opportunities to make them more active as well as improving them as football players.

The first thing Veldheer has done is teaming up with his childhood friend Mark Ehnis to create the Power Strength Training Systems.

The strength and conditioning facility was established by the two men who believed that there wasn’t a sufficient place in Grand Rapids, Michigan for young athletes to attend to improve their skills.

The Power Strength Training Systems targets athletes on all levels from 9-years old to professional athletes who are dedicated and committed to becoming better at their craft.

Discounted summer rates are available over the next few months for those who are interested in becoming better athletes.

The programs include off-season and in-season programing, exercise selection, technique instruction, nutrition and supplementation guidelines, productive training in a crowded facility, equipment for all needs and desires, as well as high school and college programs.

For further information on Veldheer’s Power Strength Training Systems visit the facility’s official website, call (616) 805-40554 or email Mark Ehnis or Jared Veldheer.

While establishing a permanent place for the young athlete to get better, Veldheer is also holding a one-time event for young football players.

Veldheer has announced that he will be holding the Jared Veldheer Football Camp on July 17, 2012 for all middle school and high school football players in the western Michigan area.

The camp will take place at the Forest Hills Northern Football Field in Grand Rapids, Michigan between the hours of seven and nine at night.

The Power Strength Training Systems, which sponsor the camp, will send its fees and donations to the Metro Health Hospital in order for them to provide free community heart screenings for local high school athletes.

/articleimages/veldheercamp.jpgThe camp will include many special activities and appearances such as meeting Veldheer as well as Jacksonville Jaguars’ offensive lineman Cameron Bradfield, football stations with coach Noel Dean, a discussion on heart disease awareness and prevention with Dr. Ed Kornoelji, a talk about concussions with former NFL player Ray Bentley, a presentation on the Power Strength Training Systems by Mark Ehnis, college recruiting advice and much more.

A small donation is required to attend the camp but it is for a charitable cause.
