Lack of Discipline of Oakland Raiders Must Be Fixed by Dennis Allen

A limited survey of the Raider Nation shows that most believe the Oakland Raiders will defeat the Dallas Cowboys in the upcoming preseason game. I believe it, too. Why? I believe that Reggie McKenzie and Dennis Allen see what I see: a poor pattern of behavior immediately after Bye Week since 2002.
Even in 2011 and 2010 when the record was 8-8 for both years, the post Bye Week games were disappointing.
If there is an indicator of lack of discipline, the performance immediately after Bye Week is a sure indicator of a need for change.
Let's look at the data. I coded a win as one, and a loss as zero.

The data is in reverse order. The top entries are the most recent years, while the bottom entries cover as far back as 2002. Notice that the Oakland Raiders have not won a game immediately after Bye Week since 2002. That's a ten year famine in wins after Bye Week.
Now, Dennis Allen and the staff have a big challenge before them. If there are significant changes in the collective behaviors of the Oakland Raiders, then in 2012, we must see a win immediately after Bye Week.
We, hereby, drop the gauntlet and declare the following: The Raider Nation must see a change in performance in 2012!
