Oakland Raiders: Car Wash to be Held in Arizona to Raise Money for Fans Against Violence

Stuart Kovacs – Aug 28, 2012

In light of the shooting that occurred during the Oakland Raiders and Arizona Cardinals game on August 17, the Phoenician Raiders Booster Club and the Oakland Raiders Soldiers Booster Club-Phoenix Chapter are both teaming up with fans of the Arizona Cardinals to raise money for Fans Against Violence.

The organizations will be holding a car wash on Saturday September 1 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM MST at the Catalina Sports Bar & Grill located at 2939 North 16th Street in Phoenix.

At 7:00 PM, raffles and auctions will be held to raise even more money. Items that will be up for auction and raffle include Raiders’ tickets with Club Access, autographed items by Raiders’ linebacker Aaron Curry, and much more.

In addition to items up for bid, there will also be a few special guests in attendance.

Former Raiders’ wide receiver Darryl “Dokie” Williams, who spent five years with the team during the 1980’s, will be making a special guest appearance.

Fans Against Violence’s main goal is to encourage good sportsmanship between fans throughout the country. In doing so, the organization hopes to make the experiences better for all those attending games and to prevent any violent or malicious acts.

If unable to attend the car wash, Fans Against Violence is also looking for donations in order to reach their goal.

To donate via PayPal, visit the organization’s official donation page.

Raider Nation Times will continue to monitor the event and update the members of Raider Nation.
