Oakland Raiders WR Jacoby Ford Out for "a Significant Amount of Time"

John Doublin – Sep 11, 2012

When the Oakland Raiders took the field on Monday night, a noticable absentee was wide receiver Jacoby Ford. Not only was Ford not doing his usual returning of kicks, or making plays for the offense, he wasn't even standing on the sideline in street clothes.

Where was he? According to the Washington Post, he was in North Carolina getting surgery on his injured foot.

Ford went down in the Raiders' second preseason game with an undisclosed foot injury. At the time, Raiders' head coach Dennis Allens said, "We'll get in as an organization and look at it tomorrow and see where we're at and see where Jacoby is at."

The way in which Allen and the team responded, it seemed as though Ford's injury wasn't that serious. In light of being in North Carolina having surgery while the team was on their home field losing to the Chargers, it appears the inury to Ford's foot actually is serious—Far more serious that previously expected.

It would appear that the Louis Murphy trade is looking worse and worse.

Raider Nation Times will monitor this situation and file updated reports as details become available.
