Oakland Raiders Sign Pass Rusher Andre Carter

John Doublin – Sep 26, 2012

The official site of the Oakland Raiders is reporting that former New England Patriots' defensive lineman Andre Carter.

Carter is in his 12th season in the NFL and has acquired 76 sackes and 371 tackles with the Patriots, Redskins and 49ers.

Carter will bring a much needed boost to the Raiders' anemic edge rush which has resulted in just three sacks in the first three games—two of which have come from the defensive tackle position.

Carter will likely play at defensive end, primarily on obvious passing downs, while Lamarr Houston will move inside.

Raider Nation Times will monitor and update any and all roster moves in the future.
