Oakland Raiders: Terrelle Pryor to Start Sunday

– Dec 28, 2012

In what some will call a shocking turn of events, Head Coach Dennis Allen has announced that QB Terrelle Pryor will be the starting quarterback for the Oakland Raiders when they visit the San Diego Chargers in the 2012 finale.

After not being active for the first eleven weeks of the season, Pryor will get the opportunity to prove himself Coach Allen, GM Reggie McKenzie and owner Mark Davis.

The move to push Pryor to the starting role came after a week long competition for the first team reps with QB Matt Leinart after Carson Palmer's season ended in Carolina.

In other news, CB Phillip Adams joins DT Richard Seymour as the latest Raiders whose season will end on injured reserve. Adams will be replaced in the starting lineup by CB Brandian Ross, while the Raiders purchased the contracts of CB Cory Nelms and DL Brandon Bair from the practice squad.

Raider Nation Times will continue to monitor these stories and provide updates as they become available.
