An Unlikely Story: Malcolm Smith

Andrew Flores – Oct 28, 2015

Malcolm Smith is truly an unlikely story. In high school he was a running back, and perhaps that explains Smith's rare athleticism. Smith was later recruited as a linebacker by  Ken Norton Jr. and in 2011 he was drafted by Seattle in the 7th round. Smith struggled with injuries early in his career, and was consequently the odd man out in Seattle. That is until things fell into place in 2013 when injuries ravaged Seattle's linebackers. Smith finally got his shot. He made the most of his chance and flashed some rare ability even earning a Superbowl MVP award. Nonetheless many saw this as a flash in the pan.
