Oakland Raiders Cut Stanford Routt: Three Other Players Who Could Be Cut or Traded this Offseason

Elias Trejo – Feb 9, 2012

The Oakland Raiders released Stanford Routt on Thursday. Routt recently signed a contract extension last year that guaranteed him $20 million. This is a major move by General Manager Reggie McKenzie who has not been shy to shake things up. He fired head coach Hue Jackson shortly after being hired, and now he has a released Routt . Routt has been with the Raiders since 2005 and had a total of 11 interceptions in his career. Four of those came this season as the Raiders #1 cornerback which was good for second on the team This move should put the majority of the team on notice and it should make things interesting for the rest of the off season. Who is next on McKenzie's list? How much will McKenzie look to change? Let's take a look at three guys who could be in danger.

It's Time for Oakland Raiders Rolando McClain to Play like the 8th Overall Pick

RoMac

Elias Trejo – Feb 9, 2012

Rolando McClain has been making headlines for all of the wrong reasons lately. The former number eight pick of the Oakland Raiders is about to enter his third year in the NFL and it's time he starts playing like a top ten pick. He also needs to clean up his act off the field if he wants to be a player in the NFL. Roger Goodell is holding players accountable for their off-field issues and McClain is now being watched by the league after his recent arrest.

Oakland Raiders Keep Al Saunders...and Continuity

Al saunders

Wilson – Feb 8, 2012

There was some concern amongst the Raider Nation when it was reported that Greg Knapp had been hired as offensive coordinator. This was not necessarily anything against Knapp himself, but rather from an 'if it isn't broken, don't fix it' stand point.

Reggie McKenzie Will Ensure that Oakland Raiders Future Contracts are not "Out of Whack"

Elias Trejo – Feb 7, 2012

Reggie McKenzie thinks some of the contracts on the Raiders roster are "Out of Whack." This is nothing new of course, if you ask the 31 other owners in the NFL, they would say the same thing. For years Al Davis gave away big time contracts that made other owners cringe. The contract he gave to Nnamdi Asomugha was one of the many examples of a contract that was "Out of Whack." A cornerback was set to make over $16 million in a season or the average of the top five quarterbacks in the league.
